No other Pokémon has as many. Fans call them Eeveelutions. "Eeveelution" started as a fan word, and later it was used officially too, first as a pun in a Pokémon Stadium 2 guidebook. Official media more often just say "Eevee evolutions". Which one you get depends on a stone, on friendship or on a move, and in Pokémon GO it can depend on a name. ## All 8 Eeveelutions at a glance The methods in this table are for Scarlet and Violet. Def 130 | 525 | Every Eeveelution has a base stat total of 525, which is the total of all six of its base stats. Each one has a single stat of 130 and is built around it. Vaporeon is the tough one with high HP, Jolteon the fast one, Flareon the strong attacker, and so on. [Eevee](https://pokee.si/pokemon/eevee) itself has a total of 325. "Friendship" means the Pokémon likes you. Once it likes you enough, a level-up does the rest. ## How each method works in the main games The stone evolutions are the simple ones. In Scarlet and Violet you use a Water Stone, Thunder Stone or Fire Stone on Eevee and it changes at once. Espeon and Umbreon need high friendship and a level-up. Do it during the day for Espeon and at night for Umbreon. The friendship needed was 220 before Generation 8, and it has been 160 since. Sylveon needs high friendship and a level-up while Eevee knows a Fairy-type move. That is the rule from Generation 8 on. In Generations 6 and 7 it needed two levels of affection instead. Leafeon and Glaceon changed the most. In Generation 4 to 7 games (apart from HeartGold and SoulSilver, which have no rocks) you level Eevee up near a Moss Rock (Leafeon) or an Ice Rock (Glaceon). From Generation 8, a Leaf Stone or an Ice Stone also works. There is no Moss Rock or Ice Rock in Sword and Shield or Scarlet and Violet, so there you use the stones. The Ice Stone can't be found in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. What if Eevee meets several conditions at once? The two rocks win over Sylveon, and Sylveon wins over Espeon and Umbreon. There are two special cases: - In Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, Eevee can only become Vaporeon, Jolteon or Flareon. Evolving Eevee costs 25 Eevee Candy. Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon come at random, unless you use a name trick. The name trick is simple: rename your Eevee to a special name, then evolve it. You get the matching Eeveelution. Walk 10 km with Eevee as your buddy, and you can evolve it into Espeon in the day or Umbreon at night. ## Which Abilities do they have? Eevee's Abilities are Run Away and [Adaptability](https://pokee.si/abilities/adaptability), with Anticipation as its Hidden Ability. Each Eeveelution has its own pair. Eight: Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon and Sylveon. That is more evolutions than any other Pokémon. ### How do you get Umbreon and Espeon? Level up Eevee when it has high friendship with you. Do it during the day for Espeon and at night for Umbreon. ### How do you evolve Eevee into Sylveon?
