# Pokémon With the Highest Attack: Top 20, Best Forms and Lowest

Kartana has the highest base Attack of any species: 181. The highest of any form is Mega Mewtwo X, with 190. Among Pokémon that are not Legendary, Mythical, Ultra Beast or Paradox, [Rampardos](https://pokee.si/pokemon/rampardos) leads with 165.

## The top 20 by base Attack

[Kartana](https://pokee.si/pokemon/kartana) is an Ultra Beast. Bulbapedia lists its base Attack as 181, and the pokee.si data agrees.

## The best non-Legendary attackers

Leaving out Legendary, Mythical, Ultra Beast and Paradox Pokémon:

Slaking's 160 comes with the Ability [Truant](https://pokee.si/abilities/truant), which makes it skip every second turn. Regigigas, also 160, has [Slow Start](https://pokee.si/abilities/slow-start), which halves its Attack for five turns.

## The lowest Attack

| Pokémon | Type | Base Attack |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Happiny](https://pokee.si/pokemon/happiny) | [Normal](https://pokee.si/types/normal) | 5 |
| [Chansey](https://pokee.si/pokemon/chansey) | [Normal](https://pokee.si/types/normal) | 5 |
| [Blissey](https://pokee.si/pokemon/blissey) | [Normal](https://pokee.si/types/normal) | 10 |
| [Shuckle](https://pokee.si/pokemon/shuckle) | [Bug/Rock](https://pokee.si/types/bug-rock) | 10 |
| [Magikarp](https://pokee.si/pokemon/magikarp) | [Water](https://pokee.si/types/water) | 10 |

Sixteen Pokémon have 20 or less. Happiny and Chansey share the bottom spot with 5.

## Attack versus Special Attack

Some Pokémon are lopsided. These have the biggest gap between Attack and Sp. Atk (Special Attack), which is the stat for special moves.

| Pokémon | Attack | Sp. Atk | Gap |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Kartana](https://pokee.si/pokemon/kartana) | 181 | 59 | 122 |
| [Darmanitan](https://pokee.si/pokemon/darmanitan) | 140 | 30 | 110 |
| [Stonjourner](https://pokee.si/pokemon/stonjourner) | 125 | 20 | 105 |
| [Rampardos](https://pokee.si/pokemon/rampardos) | 165 | 65 | 100 |

For these Pokémon, a physical move is the sensible choice. Check the move's category before you teach it.

## Huge Power and Pure Power

Huge Power doubles the Pokémon's Attack stat, according to Bulbapedia. [Pure Power](https://pokee.si/abilities/pure-power) does the same. The table shows the level 50 Attack with the best possible training (31 IV, 252 EV and a helpful Nature), then the doubled number.

| Pokémon | Ability | Base Attack | Lv 50 Attack (max) | With the Ability (×2) |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Azumarill](https://pokee.si/pokemon/azumarill) | [Huge Power](https://pokee.si/abilities/huge-power) | 50 | 112 | 224 |
| [Diggersby](https://pokee.si/pokemon/diggersby) | [Huge Power](https://pokee.si/abilities/huge-power) (Hidden) | 56 | 118 | 236 |
| [Medicham](https://pokee.si/pokemon/medicham) | [Pure Power](https://pokee.si/abilities/pure-power) | 60 | 123 | 246 |

Put next to the level 50 numbers of the top attackers, the doubled Attack of Medicham (246) is higher than a fully trained Rampardos (238) or Slaking (233), though not Kartana (256).

| Pokémon | Base Attack | Lv 50, max (31 IV, 252 EV, +Atk Nature) |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Kartana](https://pokee.si/pokemon/kartana) | 181 | 256 |
| [Rampardos](https://pokee.si/pokemon/rampardos) | 165 | 238 |
| [Slaking](https://pokee.si/pokemon/slaking) | 160 | 233 |
| [Garchomp](https://pokee.si/pokemon/garchomp) | 130 | 200 |
| [Pikachu](https://pokee.si/pokemon/pikachu) | 55 | 117 |

Azumarill, with a base Attack of only 50, reaches 224 with Huge Power, more than a fully trained Garchomp (200).

## Moves and status that change the rules

[Foul Play](https://pokee.si/moves/foul-play) uses the target's Attack stat, not the user's, so a weak attacker can use it against a strong one. [Body Press](https://pokee.si/moves/body-press) uses the user's Defense instead of Attack. And a burned Pokémon deals half damage with physical moves, per Bulbapedia, which is why a burn hurts physical attackers most (see [status conditions](https://pokee.si/guide/mechanics/status-conditions)).

## Where to go next

Try [Stat Duel](https://pokee.si/games/stat-duel) to test your feel for the numbers, check who moves first on the [speed tiers](https://pokee.si/speed-tiers) page, or read about the opposite stat in [Pokémon with the highest Defense](https://pokee.si/articles/pokemon-with-the-highest-defense).

## Questions people ask

### Which Pokémon has the highest Attack?

Kartana, with a base Attack of 181. It is a Grass and Steel Ultra Beast. Rampardos (165) and Slaking and Regigigas (160) come next.

### What is the highest Attack of any form?

Mega Mewtwo X, with 190. Mega Heracross (185), Primal Groudon, Mega Rayquaza and Attack Forme Deoxys (all 180) follow it.

### Which Pokémon that is not Legendary has the highest Attack?

Rampardos, a Rock type with 165. Slaking has 160 and Haxorus has 147.

### What does Huge Power do?

It doubles the Pokémon's Attack stat. Azumarill, Marill, Azurill, Diggersby and Bunnelby have it, and Medicham and Meditite have the similar Pure Power.

### Does the highest Attack hit the hardest?

Not always. A burned Pokémon deals half damage with physical moves, and Foul Play uses the target's Attack instead of the user's. Move power, type matchups and the target's Defense matter too.
