# How the knight moves in chess

The knight moves two squares in one direction and one square sideways, making an L. It can jump over pieces. Meet Ponyta, our knight piece, and try its lesson.

Only the landing square matters: it cannot contain a friendly piece.

Keep your king safe: a move cannot leave it in check.

Ponyta wears the knight costume in this game. The symbol on the base shows the real chess piece.
