Cerebral Pokémon · Psychic-type

![Beheeyem official artwork](https://pokee.si/img/art/606.webp)

Beheeyem is a [Psychic](https://pokee.si/types/psychic)-type Pokémon, the Cerebral Pokémon, number 606 (#0606) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 5 and comes from the [Unova](https://pokee.si/guide/regions/unova) region. It is 1 m tall and weighs 34.5 kg.

Beheeyem is the Cerebral Pokémon, a brown, oblong-headed Psychic type that can rewrite memories. The Sword Pokédex blames it for mysteriously making a Dubwool vanish from any farm it visits.

## How to pronounce Beheeyem

Beheeyem is pronounced **buh-HEE-em**. The capital letters show the stressed syllable.

## Lore

### Biology

Beheeyem is 1.0 m tall and weighs 34.5 kg. It has a brown, oblong head with a dent on each side, symmetrical black lines down the front, and two green eyes tucked under the rim. A lighter collar and four dots mark its chest, and each arm ends in three fingers coloured red, green and yellow.

### Behaviour

Beheeyem communicates by flashing its three differently coloured fingers in patterns that nobody has decoded. The Pokédex says it tampers with its opponents' minds, and the Ultra Sun entry even hints that you may already have had your own memories rewritten.

### Habitat

The Pokédex says it drifts above wheat fields. In Unova it is found on Route 14, and in Sword and Shield at the Lake of Outrage and as a wandering Pokémon in Bridge Field.

### Powers

Beheeyem has the same Abilities as Elgyem, Telepathy and Synchronize with Analytic hidden. It learns Psychic Terrain, Psychic, Zen Headbutt, Recover and Calm Mind. With base Special Attack 125 and Special Defense 95 it is a bulky special attacker, and its low base Speed of 40 suits Analytic, which boosts moves used last.

### Name origin

Beheeyem may be a twisted form of BEM, short for 'bug-eyed monster'. The Japanese name is Ohbem (オーベム), which may combine ō ('large') with BEM, pronounced as one word in Japanese.

### Design inspiration

Beheeyem seems to be based on the 'greys' too, but its collar and rimmed head also resemble a person in a hat and trench coat, perhaps a 'Men in Black' government agent. The shape of its head and body recalls some versions of the Flatwoods monster. The farm and wheat-field behaviour likely references livestock abduction and crop circles. These are fan readings.

### Evolution notes

Beheeyem evolves from Elgyem and is the final form of the line.

### In the games

Beheeyem is found on Route 14 in Black and White, its first game. It is available in Sword and Shield, but it is unobtainable in Scarlet and Violet and in Legends: Z-A.

### In the anime

Beheeyem debuted in 'Beheeyem, Duosion, and the Dream Thief!', owned by Leon, the 'Dream Thief', who used it to lure Ash and his friends into a trap and swap some of their Pokémon for dolls. In Pokémon Horizons, Spinel's Beheeyem spies on the Rising Volt Tacklers.

### Fun facts

- In 'Capacia Island UFO!', a group of Beheeyem hypnotise a town into searching for a koban, and those under their control wear Beheeyem-shaped masks.
- In the same episode, Bulbapedia says, Beheeyem build and fly flying saucers that are powered by a koban or Amulet Coin.
- In the manga Pokémon Adventures, Colress uses a Beheeyem in the Pokémon League tournament.
