# Pawmot

Hands-On Pokémon · Electric/Fighting-type

![Pawmot official artwork](https://pokee.si/img/art/923.webp)

Pawmot is a [Electric](https://pokee.si/types/electric)/[Fighting](https://pokee.si/types/fighting)-type Pokémon, the Hands-On Pokémon, number 923 (#0923) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 9 and comes from the [Paldea](https://pokee.si/guide/regions/paldea) region. It is 0.9 m tall and weighs 41 kg.

Pawmot is the Hands-On Pokémon, an electric fighter whose fluffy fur works as a battery: the Pokédex says it holds the same amount of charge as an electric car. The Scarlet Pokédex says it is normally slow to react, yet it strikes with lightning-fast movements once a battle begins.

## How to pronounce Pawmot

Pawmot is pronounced **PAW-mot**. The capital letters show the stressed syllable.

In Japanese it is パーモット (Parmot).

## Lore

### Biology

Pawmot is 0.9 m tall and weighs 41 kg. It is a stout, upright rodent, mostly orange, with tan paws, snout and tail, green inner ears, a ruffled collar of fur around its neck and a zigzag pattern where its tan forelimbs meet the orange. The yellow pads on its forepaws glow teal-blue during electric attacks.

### Behaviour

Pokémon Sleep describes Pawmot as peaceful and says it sometimes treats hurt Pokémon with a zap from its forepaws. If it raises its paws while asleep, it may be dreaming of looking after others.

### Habitat

The Pokédex gives no habitat. In Scarlet and Violet, Serebii lists no wild locations for it: it appears in 5-star and 6-star Tera Raid Battles, or by evolving Pawmo.

### Powers

Its Abilities are Volt Absorb and Natural Cure, with Iron Fist hidden. It arrives with Revival Blessing, a move that revives a fainted party member with half its health, and also learns Close Combat at level 44. Base Attack 115 and Speed 105 make it a fast, hard-hitting fighter.

### Name origin

Pawmot may combine Pawmi or Pawmo with 'marmot'. The Japanese name is Parmot (パーモット), possibly Pamo or Pamot plus 'marmot'.

### Design inspiration

Pawmot, like the rest of its line, appears to be modelled on a marmot. Bulbapedia suggests that the marmot and defibrillator ideas may explain why it can learn Revival Blessing. This is a fan reading.

### Evolution notes

Pawmot evolves from Pawmo when it levels up outside its Poké Ball after you have walked 1,000 steps with it using the Let's Go! feature.

### In the games

Pawmot is Nemona's sync pair partner in Pokémon Masters EX and a playable melee all-rounder in Pokémon UNITE, where it starts as Pawmi and evolves at levels 5 and 7. It first appeared in Scarlet and Violet and has a Pokédex entry in Pokémon Pokopia, but is not available in Legends: Z-A.

### In the anime

Nemona's Pawmo was revealed to have evolved into Pawmot in the Pokémon Horizons episode 'Welcome to Naranja Academy!'. In 'Terastallization vs. Mega Evolution!' she Terastallized it into a Fighting type for her Double Battle against Roy.

### Fun facts

- Double Shock, a 120-power Electric move that makes its user lose its Electric type, is a move only Pawmot is known to learn.
- Bulbapedia notes that its base stat total of 490 is the highest of any Electric rodent, before Mega Evolutions are counted.
- A 'YOASOBI's Pawmot' distribution ran in Scarlet and Violet from 13 March 2024 to 28 February 2025, beginning on the day the band's Biri-Biri single came out on CD and vinyl.
