# Revavroom

Multi-Cyl Pokémon · Steel/Poison-type

![Revavroom official artwork](https://pokee.si/img/art/966.webp)

Revavroom is a [Steel](https://pokee.si/types/steel)/[Poison](https://pokee.si/types/poison)-type Pokémon, the Multi-Cyl Pokémon, number 966 (#0966) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 9 and comes from the [Paldea](https://pokee.si/guide/regions/paldea) region. It is 1.8 m tall and weighs 120 kg.

Revavroom is a multi-cylinder engine with an attitude: the Pokédex says it threatens rivals with its exhaust roar and sprays toxic fluid from a cylinder-shaped mouth. Five oversized versions power the vehicles of Team Star.

## How to pronounce Revavroom

Revavroom is pronounced **rev-uh-VROOM**. The capital letters show the stressed syllable.

In Japanese it is ブロロローム (Burororoom).

## Lore

### Biology

Revavroom is 1.8 m tall and weighs 120 kg. It resembles a car engine, with one yellow eye at the front, spikes on either side and eight cylinders along its body, each tipped with a purple stain. Its large mouth sits on top like a car's air filter, with jagged teeth and a long tongue.

### Behaviour

Revavroom is aggressive and uses the sound of its exhaust to scare off rivals. Bulbapedia says it can run any machine it is attached to, and that it normally levitates rather than moving along the ground.

### Habitat

The Pokédex gives no habitat. In Scarlet and Violet Revavroom is found in North Province, around Dalizapa Passage and Glaseado Mountain, and in 5-star and 6-star Tera Raid Battles.

### Diet

The Pokédex says it makes gas from poison and the minerals in rocks, then detonates it in its cylinders to produce energy.

### Powers

Overcoat protects it from weather damage, and its hidden Ability is Filter. It starts with Shift Gear and adds Spin Out at level 52. Team Star's five squad bosses each use a battle-only Starmobile form (Dark, Fire, Poison, Fairy or Fighting), with its own Ability and a signature Torque move that no other Pokémon can use. With base Attack 119 and Defense 90 it is a bruiser.

### Name origin

Revavroom may combine 'rev' (to speed up an engine) and 'vroom'. The Japanese name is Burororoom (ブロロローム), which may combine burororo (an engine sound) and 'vroom', and perhaps 'roam'.

### Design inspiration

Revavroom appears to be a multi-cylinder engine, and its grille and spikes form a skull, a common warning sign for toxic substances. The Starmobile forms look modelled on dekotora, Japan's decorated trucks. These are fan readings.

### Evolution notes

Revavroom evolves from Varoom at level 40 and is the final stage.

### In the games

Revavroom is the engine of each Starmobile that you face at a Team Star base in Scarlet and Violet, where it debuted. It is not in either expansion and is not available in Legends: Z-A.

### In the anime

Debuted in Pokémon Horizons in 'Taking the Next Steps', attached to Diana's automobile.

### Fun facts

- In an interview, Ken Sugimori wondered what a car-based Pokémon would eat and how it would turn that into power; Bulbapedia says Revavroom's Pokédex entries echo that idea.
- Bulbapedia says the Starmobiles are not true forms: each battle overwrites your opponent's data with preset stats, so they have no IVs or EVs, never run out of PP and shrug off status conditions.
- A Level 50 Revavroom was handed out online from 22 November 2023 to 31 October 2024.
