# Spritzee

Perfume Pokémon · Fairy-type

Spritzee is a [Fairy](https://pokee.si/types/fairy)-type Pokémon, the Perfume Pokémon, number 682 (#0682) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 6 and comes from the [Kalos](https://pokee.si/guide/regions/kalos) region. It is 0.2 m tall and weighs 0.5 kg.

Spritzee is the Perfume Pokémon, a small pink bird that makes its own scents and can change them just by changing what it eats. The Pokédex says people adored it so much that royal ladies once carried one in place of perfume.

## Lore

### Biology

Spritzee is a round pink bird 0.2 m tall and weighing 0.5 kg. A long curved beak, pale blue-grey like its face, looks rather like a plague doctor's mask, above wide red-orange eyes fringed with long black lashes. It has a curly tuft on its head, small wings and purple feet, and a scent pouch inside its body lets it make a range of scents.

### Behaviour

The Pokédex is more interested in how people react to Spritzee than in its moods. Its scent enraptures anyone who smells it, and the Shield Pokédex says noble ladies adored it.

### Habitat

The Pokédex names no habitat. Spritzee is unobtainable in Scarlet and Violet, but in Legends: Z-A it lives across several of Lumiose City's districts.

### Powers

Its Abilities are Healer, which has a 30% chance to cure an adjacent ally's status ailment each turn, and Aroma Veil (hidden), which protects allies from moves that affect their mental state. It learns Fairy Wind, Draining Kiss, Aromatherapy, Calm Mind and Moonblast. With 78 base HP and a very slow build, it is a supportive Pokémon rather than a fast attacker.

### Name origin

Spritzee may come from 'sprite' or a related word, or from 'spritz' (a spray of liquid) plus Fee, German and Dutch for 'fairy'. The Japanese name is Shushupu (シュシュプ), which may derive from pushū, the sound of spraying.

### Design inspiration

Spritzee may draw on sprites or pixies, with a body like a powder puff and a shape recalling a perfume bottle. Its pink colour and diet-sensitive scent may point to flamingos, and its beak to a plague doctor's mask, which doctors stuffed with perfumed mixtures. These are fan readings.

### Evolution notes

Spritzee evolves into Aromatisse when it is traded while holding a Sachet.

### In the games

Spritzee has always been a version exclusive: wild only in Y (on Route 7, with the Fairy Friend Safari for X players) and again only in Shield. The Mega Dimension DLC of Legends: Z-A adds it to the Fairy-type zones of Hyperspace Lumiose.

### In the anime

Valerie's Spritzee debuted in 'A Fashionable Battle!', where it beat Sawyer's Bagon in her Gym battle. In 'Fairy-Type Trickery!' it beat Ash's Fletchinder before losing to Hawlucha.

### Fun facts

- Because of a coding error in Generation VIII, Spritzee gets Draining Kiss twice, at levels 9 and 15; the first slot was supposed to be Disarming Voice.
- Before Generation VIII, the only Pokémon known to carry the Ability Aroma Veil were Spritzee and Aromatisse.
- Its 23 base Speed makes it the slowest of the Pokémon introduced in Generation VI.
