The short version, for kids and grown-ups

• pokee.si is a fan site. It is not made by or connected to Nintendo, GAME FREAK or The Pokémon Company.
• Be kind, play fair, and keep your PIN secret.
• The Pokédex and guides are open to everyone.
• Plus is optional, and only a grown-up can buy it. It costs £4.99 a month and a grown-up can stop it at any time.

About these terms

pokee.si is a small hobby site run by a parent in England, UK. “We” and “us” mean that person. You can reach us on the contact page. By using the site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy. If you are under 18, please ask a grown-up to read them with you. Only an adult can buy Plus.

A fan site

pokee.si is an unofficial fan site and is not affiliated with Nintendo, Creatures, GAME FREAK or The Pokémon Company. Pokémon and all related names and images are © their respective owners.

Facts about Pokémon come from community sources such as PokéAPI, and we do our best to get them right, but they may contain mistakes. The Quest story, the dojo and the games are our own creations for fun. If you spot a mistake, please tell us.

Using the site

You are welcome to use pokee.si for fun and learning. Please do not:

• use a nickname that is rude, unkind, or that contains your real name or anything else that could identify you or someone else;
• cheat the leaderboards, or make trainers or send messages by script or in bulk;
• try to break, overload or get into parts of the site that are not meant for you, or interfere with other people’s trainers;
• copy the site wholesale, or use our own text, art or audio somewhere else without asking;
• send us messages that are abusive, or that you are not allowed to send.

We may remove a nickname, or a trainer, that breaks these rules. The text, code, art, music and voices that we made ourselves belong to us or to the people who made them for us. Pokémon names and images belong to their owners.

Trainer accounts

A trainer is a nickname, a number and a PIN (4 to 8 digits). You do not need one to use the site. It is your job to keep your PIN secret. There is no email, so we cannot reset a lost PIN, and anyone with your nickname, number and PIN can use your trainer. You can delete your trainer any time from the Trainer profile page. See the Privacy policy for what that removes.

pokee.si Plus

What it is

Plus is an optional paid membership for a trainer. It adds extras to the games: extra game modes, hints, longer timers, practice of past daily games, one rest day a week for the day streak, the advanced lessons, unlimited quiz packs, and card and profile themes. We may change, add or take away extras over time, but the Pokédex, the guides and the core games stay open to everyone.

Price and renewal

Plus costs £4.99 a month or £39.99 a year. A monthly plan renews each month and a yearly plan renews each year, and Stripe takes the payment from the same card each time, until you cancel. If we ever change the price, we will tell you before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then.

The price you see is in your currency: pounds in the UK, euros in the euro area, US dollars everywhere else. We choose it from your country when you open the page. Once you subscribe, your renewals stay in that currency. Prices include VAT where it applies (UK and EU). There is no VAT in the US. We are not selling Plus in EU countries yet. You can still use access codes and gift codes there.

Trial

When we offer a trial to new subscribers, it is shown before you pay (for example, 7 days). We take the card at the start. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged £4.99 a month (or £39.99 a year) until you cancel. To cancel, open the Plus page, choose “Manage subscription”, then “Cancel”. If you cancel during the trial, you are not charged. When a trial is offered, the buyer must tick this box at the grown-up check before they can continue:

“I am an adult. I want the 7-day trial to start now. Unless I cancel before it ends, I will be charged £4.99 a month (or £39.99 a year) until I cancel. If I change my mind within 14 days of the first payment, pokee.si will refund it in full. I can cancel at any time on the Plus page (Manage subscription).”

How you buy

Plus must be bought by a grown-up. Before checkout there is a grown-up check, and then you pay on Stripe’s secure page. Stripe takes the payment and is the only one to see your card details. Stripe’s own terms apply to the payment.

Starting straight away

If there is no trial (for example, none is on offer, or you have subscribed before), Plus starts as soon as you pay, because that is what the buyer asks for. At the grown-up check the buyer must tick this box before they can continue:

“I am an adult. I want Plus to start straight away. If I change my mind within 14 days of the first payment, pokee.si will refund it in full. I can cancel at any time to stop the next payment.”

The Stripe checkout page repeats the same point in these words:

“Plus starts straight away. Changed your mind? Tell us within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund. Cancel any time to stop the next payment.”

Normally, buying online in the UK gives you 14 days to change your mind (under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). Plus starts straight away, and you keep that 14-day right: if you change your mind within 14 days of your first payment, contact us and we will refund that payment in full.

Gift Plus

A grown-up can buy Plus as a gift for 1, 3 or 12 months. It is a one-off payment, not a subscription, so nothing renews. You get a single-use gift code. The code is shown on the page for 30 minutes after it first appears, so copy it or print the card straight away. If you change your mind within 14 days and the code has not been used, contact us and we will refund it in full. The code has no cash value. Plus starts when the code is redeemed, and it adds to any other gift time the trainer already has. At the grown-up check the buyer must tick this box before they can continue (G is the gift price shown in your currency and N is 1, 3 or 12):

“I am an adult. This is a one-off payment of G for N months of Plus, not a subscription, so nothing renews. I will get a gift code to give to someone. If I change my mind within 14 days and the code has not been used, pokee.si will refund it in full.”

Family codes

A subscription covers up to 4 trainers in your family: the subscriber and up to 3 more, each by a single-use family code. Each code is used by one trainer. The Plus a family code gives ends when the subscription ends, or when the subscriber takes the code back. A family code has no cash value.

Classroom and school licences

A teacher, school, library or club can buy a classroom licence (up to 35 pupils) or a school or library licence (up to 600 pupils, any number of teachers). It is a one-off payment for 12 months, not a subscription, so nothing renews by itself. Buying the same licence again adds 12 months. The licence belongs to the trainer that bought it. Keep that trainer’s nickname, number and PIN safe: there is no email, so we cannot reset a lost PIN, but if you lose it we can move a paid licence to a new trainer when you contact us with the payment receipt.

The licence holder makes class codes on the teacher dashboard. A pupil who types a class code on their own trainer gets Plus until the licence ends. The holder can take a code back at any time, and the Plus it gave ends straight away. Pupils keep their trainers and progress. A class code has no cash value.

If you change your mind within 14 days of paying, contact us and we will refund the payment in full. The licence then ends, and so does the Plus it gave to pupils. If the holder deletes their trainer, the licence carries on until its end date, so pupils keep Plus, but nobody can see or make class codes for it any more. Schools that cannot pay by card can pay by invoice or purchase order: contact us. At the grown-up check the buyer must tick this box before they can continue (L is the licence and P the price shown in your currency):

“I am an adult. I am buying a L for 12 months for P, paid once. If I change my mind within 14 days, pokee.si will refund it in full.”

Cancelling and refunds

• Cancel any time. On the Plus page, choose “Manage subscription” to open Stripe’s secure portal, where you can cancel, change your card and see receipts. Cancelling stops the next payment.
• During a trial. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing.
• What you keep. Plus carries on until the end of the month you have paid for, plus a day or two for late payments, then switches off. We do not take another payment.
• Refunds. Within 14 days of your first payment you can ask for a full refund of that payment. After that we do not refund part months; cancelling stops the next payment. This does not affect your legal rights. If we charged you by mistake, or Plus is faulty or not as we described it, tell us and we will put it right, which may include a refund.
• When Plus ends. Your perks switch off. Your trainer, your progress and everything in the Pokédex stay. You can come back to Plus later.
• Deleting your trainer. You must cancel Plus first. Deleting the trainer ends your Plus, and we do not refund the rest of a month that has already been paid.
• If we stop Plus. If we close Plus down, we will stop charging you and tell you, and refund any time you have paid for but cannot use.

Access codes

Sometimes we give a family a Plus access code. A code gives Plus without payment, for a set time or with no end date, and can be used a limited number of times. A code has no cash value, cannot be sold, and belongs to the trainer who redeemed it. We store codes only in scrambled form. We can limit, expire or withdraw a code, and end the Plus it gave, for example if it is shared, sold or misused. Plus from a code may also end if we close Plus.

Buy Me a Coffee

The Support page may link to Buy Me a Coffee, where a grown-up can make an optional one-off gift. That is a voluntary gift, not a purchase of Plus, and it does not give any extras. It is handled by Buy Me a Coffee under their terms and privacy policy, not ours.

Our responsibility

pokee.si is a hobby site. We work hard to keep it running and the facts right, but we provide it as it is, and it may sometimes be down, change or have mistakes. Please keep your own backup in mind: progress saved only on your device is lost if you clear your browser, and we cannot promise a cloud save will never be lost.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. It also does not take away your legal rights as a consumer, including that digital content must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.

Apart from that, we are not responsible for losses that we could not reasonably have predicted, for lost progress, or for problems caused by your device, your internet or other services such as Stripe. For Plus, the most we will owe you in total for anything that goes wrong is the amount you paid us for Plus in the 12 months before.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or in the courts of the part of the UK where you live. If something goes wrong, please contact us first. We would much rather fix it than argue about it.

Changes

We may update these terms, for example if Plus changes. The date at the top shows when. If a change matters to you in a big way, such as a new price, we will tell you before it applies to you. By carrying on using the site after a change you accept the new terms. If you do not, you can stop using the site and cancel Plus.
