Archeops

Archeops is a Rock/Flying-type Pokémon, the First Bird Pokémon, number 567 (#0567) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 5 and comes from the Unova region. It is 1.4 m tall and weighs 32 kg.
Archeops is the First Bird Pokémon that runs better than it flies. The Pokédex says it needs a long run-up to take off, but on the ground it can match the speed of a car.

Lore
Biology
Archeops is a large reptile-bird with a scaly, snake-like red head that has a green stripe and a mouth full of sharp teeth. Frayed yellow and blue feathers cover all four limbs, so each acts as a wing, and each bears sharp claws. Its red tail ends in a fan of blue feathers. It is 1.4 m tall and weighs 32 kg.
Behaviour
Archeops is intelligent and hunts in packs: the Pokédex says one corners the prey and another swoops in. Its wing muscles are weak, so the Sword entry says it must run at nearly 40 km/h (25 mph) over about 4 km (2.5 miles) to take off, which is why it hunts better on the ground.
Habitat
The Pokédex names no habitat, and it exists today only through fossil revival. In Sword and Shield's Crown Tundra you can only evolve an Archen. It is not available in Scarlet and Violet or Legends: Z-A.
Diet
Bulbapedia calls it omnivorous: it hunts prey and was shown eating fruit in 'Archeops In The Modern World!'.
Powers
Archeops has the Ability Defeatist, which halves its Attack and Special Attack once its HP falls to half or less. It learns Dragon Claw, Rock Slide, U-turn and Crunch. With 140 Attack, 112 Special Attack and 110 Speed it hits hard and fast, but its Defense and Special Defense are only 65.
Name origin
Archeops may combine Archaeopteryx with -ops, a suffix in prehistoric animal names that comes from the Ancient Greek for 'face', and it may also nod to Cheops, the Greek name of the pharaoh Khufu. The Japanese name is アーケオス, romanised Archeos.
Design inspiration
Bulbapedia, citing Pokémon Fossil Museum material, says Archeops is based on Archaeopteryx. Its shape also resembles Microraptor, which had feathers on its legs too, but that link is a fan reading.
Evolution notes
Archeops evolves from Archen at level 37 and is the end of the line.
In the games
Archeops comes only from fossils: in Black and White, where it debuted, the only way to get one is to evolve a revived Archen.
In the anime
Archeops flocks appear in flashbacks in 'A Restoration Confrontation! Part 1' and in person in Part 2. The female Archeops from its debut episode returns in a flashback in 'Explorers of the Hero's Ruin!'.
