Bruxish

Bruxish is a Water/Psychic-type Pokémon, the Gnash Teeth Pokémon, number 779 (#0779) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 7 and comes from the Alola region. It is 0.9 m tall and weighs 19 kg.
Bruxish grinds its teeth to fire a psychic blast from the bulb on its head, and the noise alone sends nearby Pokémon fleeing. Alola's lifeguards let it stay in their waters because it keeps other dangerous Water Pokémon away.

Lore
Biology
Bruxish is a 0.9 m, 19 kg fish with a light blue front, a purple upper body, a yellow underside and big dark purple lips full of sharp teeth. A bulb-tipped growth on its head can open like a flower. Bulbapedia says it buries itself in the seabed with only that growth showing, and its faint psychic field works like a radar for prey.
Behaviour
Grinding its teeth stimulates Bruxish's brain, and the Pokédex says that when sunlight catches the ripples the grinding sends out, the water all around it sparkles. Bulbapedia adds that a strong blast of psychic power gives opponents terrible headaches and can knock them out.
Habitat
Bulbapedia says it shares warm ocean currents with its rival Toxapex. It can be found in the East and West Paldean Seas in Scarlet and Violet.
Diet
It stuns prey with psychokinesis and grinds it up; the Pokédex names Shellder as a victim and says Bruxish shrugs off Mareanie's spikes and crunches them up.
Powers
Its Ability Dazzling stops opponents using priority moves, and Strong Jaw boosts its biting moves by 1.5 times; Wonder Skin is its Hidden Ability. According to Bulbapedia, no other known Pokémon can have Dazzling. It learns Crunch and Psychic Fangs, and with base Attack 105 it is a hard-hitting physical biter.
Name origin
Bruxish may blend 'bruxism', the medical term for teeth grinding, with 'fish'. The Japanese name is Hagigishiri (ハギギシリ), which may combine ha ('tooth'), kawahagi ('filefish') and hagishiri ('teeth grinding').
Design inspiration
Bulbapedia credits an unknown female designer with the original design, which James Turner finalised. The reef triggerfish, Hawaii's state fish, may have inspired it, with markings borrowed from the clown triggerfish, and the bold pattern may nod to dazzle camouflage.
In the games
In Sun and Moon, where it debuted, Bruxish is a fishing catch on Alola's Routes 13 to 15 and the Secluded Shore. In Scarlet and Violet it also turns up in 3 star Tera Raid Battles, and The Indigo Disk adds it to the Savanna Biome. It is not available in Legends: Z-A.
In the anime
Bruxish debuted in 'Alola to New Adventure!' when Lana hooked one while fishing. In 'The Island Whisperer!' one used psychic power to trap a Wailmer until Olivia's Lycanroc scared it off with Rock Slide, and in 'All Out, All of the Time!' Goh caught one.
