Fun facts
- Each of the four natural islands is named after the Hawaiian word for its colour, and each has its own guardian deity, a Tapu.
- Alola has no Pokémon Gyms: the island challenge is a rite of passage instead.
- Alola's name may combine Hawaiian ola ("life") and the Latin alo ("to nurture").
- A large time difference between Alola and Kanto is mentioned in the games' lore.
