Emboar

Emboar is a Fire/Fighting-type Pokémon, the Mega Fire Pig Pokémon, number 500 (#0500) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 5 and comes from the Unova region. It is 1.6 m tall and weighs 150 kg.
Emboar is the Mega Fire Pig Pokémon, a bearded brawler whose neck flames burn hotter the worse a fight gets. This Fire and Fighting type is, oddly, happiest when things look bad.

Lore
Biology
Emboar is a bulky, upright boar, 1.6 m tall and 150 kg, with a red nose, thick black eyebrows, two tusks and a wreath of fire across its neck and shoulders. The Pokédex says this fiery beard flares up from the fire inside its chest, and Emboar can set its fists alight. Yellow swirls mark the dark band across its chest.
Behaviour
Emboar cares deeply about its friends and is tough and relentless in battle. The Violet Pokédex says it seems to relish a desperate situation, while the flames around its neck swell and boost its power and speed.
Habitat
The Pokédex names no wild habitat. Emboar is normally reached by evolving Pignite, with wild ones only in the Mega Dimension DLC's Hyperspace Lumiose.
Powers
Its Abilities are Blaze and the hidden Reckless. It learns Heat Crash, Flamethrower and Flare Blitz by levelling up and Close Combat by TM; before Generation VIII, Bulbapedia notes, the Emboar line was the only known group of Pokémon able to learn Heat Crash. Mega Emboar, new in Legends: Z-A, is still Fire and Fighting, with the Ability Mold Breaker and a beard of flame that spreads into armour. It wields a spear of fire that the official site says can reach 10,000 degrees Celsius. With 123 base Attack and 110 HP, Emboar is a bulky, hard-hitting attacker.
Name origin
Emboar may combine 'ember', 'emperor' and 'boar'. The Japanese name is Enbuoh (エンブオー), which may blend en (flame) with buta (pig), bu (martial arts) or bū (an oink), and ō (king).
Design inspiration
Emboar is based on a boar, and Ken Sugimori named Zhang Fei, the fierce warrior from Romance of the Three Kingdoms, as its inspiration. Mega Emboar's serpent-shaped spear appears to echo the serpent spear Zhang Fei was said to carry, and its loyal but reckless streak may allude to him too.
Evolution notes
Emboar is the final stage, reached by levelling Pignite to level 36.
In the games
Emboar is the final form of Unova's Fire starter in Black and White and Black 2 and White 2. In the newest games it arrives by evolving Pignite, in The Indigo Disk and in Legends: Z-A.
In the anime
Tatsuki's Emboar debuted in the Victini films, losing to Ash's Oshawott in the Harvest Festival tournament. Bianca's Emboar made its series debut in 'Search for the Clubultimate!'.
