Lore
Biology
Fezandipiti is a male-only bird, 1.4 m tall and 30.1 kg, with long bronze legs, a black body, a white head and neck, and a train of curling bronze tail feathers. Golden crest feathers rise from its head like a small crown, and magenta plumes above its eyes trail like eyebrows. A magenta chain hangs from its chest over a shawl-like wrap.
Behaviour
The Pokédex says Fezandipiti flaps its glossy wings to spread pheromones that enchant people and Pokémon. Bulbapedia, citing the game's Map Mission Guide, says Kitakami locals worship it for good luck and serendipitous happenings. Bulbapedia also calls it greedy and arrogant, yet close to its two fellow heroes, who talk in private and fight together.
Habitat
Canon gives no natural habitat. In The Teal Mask it waits on Oni Mountain in Kitakami and can be caught once you have finished the expansion's main story.
Powers
Its Ability Toxic Chain gives its moves a chance to badly poison the target, and the hidden Technician strengthens moves of 60 base power or less. It uses Cross Poison, Wing Attack, Beat Up and the Fairy move Moonblast, and can heal with Roost. With 125 base Special Defense and 99 Speed it is a sturdy, quick supporter.
Name origin
Fezandipiti may combine 'pheasant' and 'serendipity', an unexpected piece of good fortune. The Japanese name is Kichikigisu (キチキギス), possibly from kichi ('good fortune') and kigisu, an archaic word for pheasant.
Design inspiration
Fezandipiti may resemble the copper pheasant, a Japanese bird that is the official bird of Akita Prefecture in Tōhoku, the region that inspires Kitakami. Its plumage resembles a kimono, its crest a set of kanzashi hair ornaments and its white face oshiroi make-up, so it may also nod to geisha or to male kabuki actors who played female roles. The chain looks like a knotted obi sash. These are fan readings.
In the games
Fezandipiti plays a major part in The Teal Mask, the Kitakami expansion for Scarlet and Violet, where it is number 199 in the Kitakami Pokédex. Bulbapedia lists it as unobtainable in Legends: Z-A.
In the anime
In a Pokémon Horizons episode, Fezandipiti and the other Loyal Three cause havoc at Kitakami Hall. It spends part of the fight admiring its reflection in a gem, and its pheromones leave Sableye and Quaquaval unable to battle.
