Kricketune

Kricketune is a Bug-type Pokémon, the Cricket Pokémon, number 402 (#0402) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 4 and comes from the Sinnoh region. It is 1 m tall and weighs 25.5 kg.
Kricketune is a one-cricket orchestra: it crosses its knife-like arms and plays melodies that differ from one individual to the next. The Pokédex says it signals its emotions through the tunes, and scientists are studying the patterns.

Lore
Biology
Kricketune is 1.0 m tall and weighs 25.5 kg. It is red with three black oval marks on its belly, a tan streak down its neck and black feelers like a moustache, longer on the male. Its arms are shaped like its antennae, and a pair of black wings sit on its back.
Behaviour
Kricketune crosses its arms over its chest and rubs them together when it cries, composing melodies on the spot, and it can let the sound resonate in its hollow belly. One village holds a contest built on the wide variety of its cries, and a Legends: Arceus entry says it is worthwhile to seek out your favourite tunes.
Habitat
The Pokédex gives no habitat. In Scarlet and Violet it lives in North Province Area Two, and in The Teal Mask in Kitakami around Reveler's Road, Kitakami Hall, Mossfell Confluence and Oni Mountain.
Powers
Kricketune's Ability is Swarm, which strengthens its Bug moves when its HP is low; Technician, which boosts weaker moves, is hidden. Its musical side shows in Sing, which puts foes to sleep, and Perish Song, learned at level 50, while Slash, X-Scissor and Night Slash suit its blade-like arms. With base Attack 85 and Speed 65 it is a modest physical attacker.
Name origin
Kricketune may blend 'cricket' and 'tune'. The Japanese name is Korotock (コロトック), perhaps from koorogi (cricket) and tock, the sound of a metronome or ticking clock.
Design inspiration
Kricketune looks like a cricket, though Bulbapedia notes it also resembles a violin beetle, with a violin-like abdomen and arms that work like bows. Its moustache, cape-like wings and baton-like arms also suggest a conductor. These are fan readings.
Evolution notes
Kricketune evolves from Kricketot at level 10.
In the games
In Diamond and Pearl, where it debuted, Kricketune can be found on routes such as 206 and 210. In Scarlet and Violet it also appears in 3-star Tera Raid Battles, and it is not available in Legends: Z-A.
In the anime
Kricketune debuted in 'Getting the Pre-Contest Titters!', owned by a Coordinator competing in the Floaroma Contest. Nando's Kricketune, which first appeared in 'Dawn's Early Night!', later helped him reach the Lily of the Valley Conference as well as the Sinnoh Grand Festival.
