Lucario

Lucario is a Fighting/Steel-type Pokémon, the Aura Pokémon, number 448 (#0448) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 4 and comes from the Sinnoh region. It is 1.2 m tall and weighs 54 kg.
Lucario is the Aura Pokémon, a jackal-like Fighting and Steel type that senses aura, the energy given off by every living thing. It reads moods from over 800 metres (half a mile) away, finds enemies it cannot see, and has been a fan favourite since its film debut.

Lore
Biology
Lucario is a bipedal canine with blue and black fur, red eyes and a cream chest. A rounded spike sits on the back of each paw and another on its chest, and four black appendages hang from its head and rise when it reads aura. It is 1.2 m tall and weighs 54 kg. The Pokédex says it can tell how a creature feels from over 800 metres (half a mile) away and can shape aura into explosive spheres.
Behaviour
Lucario can tell what people are thinking, and the Pokédex says it trusts only Trainers who are just at heart. Reading emotions is a burden: it learns things it would rather not know and gets stressed easily. It understands human speech, hunts in packs, and never drops its guard, even asleep.
Habitat
The Pokédex gives no habitat; Bulbapedia says it lives deep in mountains far from people. In Scarlet and Violet it is found in Paldea's North Province and across Kitakami, and in Legends: Z-A in Wild Zone 20.
Powers
Lucario launches Aura Sphere, a homing blast that never misses, and fights with Close Combat, Bone Rush and the lightning-fast Extreme Speed. It can have Steadfast or Inner Focus, with Justified hidden. Mega Lucario pours aura into pure attack; Mega Lucario Z, from the Mega Dimension DLC, cloaks itself in aura to parry blows. With 110 base Attack and 115 base Special Attack it is a fast mixed attacker.
Name origin
Lucario may come from reversing the Japanese spelling of 'orichalcum', a mythical metal, or from 'oracle'. It may also involve the Greek lúkos ('wolf') and the Spanish luchar ('to fight'). The Japanese name is Lucario (ルカリオ).
Design inspiration
Lucario appears to be based on a jackal, which with its mystical side suggests Anubis, the Egyptian god who judged souls. Its aura resembles ideas like qi, and the fur 'shorts' on its legs hint at a martial artist. It could also draw on Ōkuchi-no-Magami, a Japanese wolf god said to see a person's true nature. These are fan readings, not official statements.
Evolution notes
Riolu evolves into Lucario through friendship during the day. Lucario was the first Pokémon to receive two Mega Evolutions in different generations: Mega Lucario (Generation VI) and Mega Lucario Z (Legends: Z-A).
In the games
Korrina's Lucario Mega Evolves atop the Tower of Mastery in X and Y, and in Legends: Z-A's Mega Dimension it becomes Mega Lucario Z. The species debuted in Diamond and Pearl, where the Champion Cynthia uses one. Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Team speaks of Lucario as the greatest rescuer who ever lived.
In the anime
Debuted in the film 'Lucario and the Mystery of Mew' as Sir Aaron's partner, sealed in a staff for 1,000 years and finally giving its life to save the Tree of Beginning. Ash's Riolu evolved in 'Sword and Shield... The Legends Awaken!', and Roy's Shiny Lucario in Horizons can become Mega Lucario Z.
