Pancham is a Fighting-type Pokémon, the Playful Pokémon, number 674 (#0674) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 6 and comes from the Kalos region. It is 0.6 m tall and weighs 8 kg.
Pancham is the Playful Pokémon, a panda cub that chews a leaf, glares as fiercely as it can and cannot keep a straight face for long. The tough-guy act is the whole point, and it falls apart the moment someone pats its head.

Lore
Biology
Pancham is 0.6 m tall and weighs 8 kg, with a white head and tail, round black ears, black rings round its eyes and a black upper body. The green leaf in its mouth has no purpose, the Pokédex says, beyond looking cool. It wants its enemies to take it seriously, but its glare is not scary enough to work.
Behaviour
Pancham picks a Pangoro as its leader and copies everything it does, and that is how it learns to fight and hunt. The Pokédex likens it to a henchman trailing Pangoro, and says a big mistake costs it its leaf. It is mischievous, so it is not well suited to inexperienced Trainers.
Habitat
The Pokédex names no habitat. Pancham is unobtainable in Scarlet and Violet, but in Legends: Z-A it lives in Wild Zone 3 of Rouge District.
Powers
Its Abilities are Iron Fist, which strengthens punching moves, and Mold Breaker, with Scrappy hidden, which lets its Normal and Fighting moves hit Ghost types. It learns Arm Thrust, Circle Throw and Low Sweep, and also learns Dark moves such as Taunt and Crunch. With base Attack 82 but base Speed only 43, it hits harder than it moves.
Name origin
Pancham may combine 'panda', 'punch' and 'champion'. The Japanese name is Yancham (ヤンチャム), which may blend yancha ('naughty') with 'champion'.
Design inspiration
Bulbapedia credits Megumi Mizutani with the design, citing a profile in a Pokémon Trading Card Game illustration book. It is based on a panda cub, and gaining the Dark type on evolving after time with Dark Pokémon may suggest a naughty child led astray. These are fan readings.
Evolution notes
Pancham evolves into Pangoro at level 32 while a Dark-type Pokémon is in the party.
In the games
In Super Mystery Dungeon, Pancham and its lackey Shelmet are the school bullies of Serene Village. It debuted in X and Y, and in Legends: Z-A it appears in the base game and in the Mega Dimension DLC's Hyperspace Lumiose.
In the anime
Serena caught a Pancham in 'Dreaming a Performer's Dream!' after it crashed a Pokémon Showcase in Lagoon Town. Two mischievous Pancham and their Pangoro guardian debuted in 'The Bamboozling Forest!'.
