Lore
Biology
Skiddo is 0.9 m tall and 31 kg, with shaggy dark brown fur, a white face with a brown stripe down the middle, a short beard and a pair of pointed black horns. White stockings run down its legs to cloven orange hooves. A leafy green mane circles its neck and runs along its back, ending in a tail of three short leaves.
Behaviour
Skiddo has a placid disposition. The Scarlet Pokédex says mountain dwellers rode on its back until recently to cross the mountain paths.
Habitat
Skiddo lives on rocky mountains, where the Violet Pokédex says its leaves let it live although the land offers no food. In Scarlet and Violet it is widespread across the South, East and West Provinces and the Asado Desert, and in Legends: Z-A it is in Wild Zone 3 and in Hyperspace Lumiose in the Mega Dimension DLC.
Diet
It makes its own energy from sunlight and water with the leaves on its back, so it does not need to eat while it has both.
Powers
Its Abilities are Sap Sipper, which absorbs Grass-type moves and raises its Attack, and the hidden Grass Pelt, which boosts Defense on Grassy Terrain. It learns Vine Whip at level 7, Leech Seed at level 12 and Leaf Blade at level 45. Its best base stats are 66 HP and 65 Attack.
Name origin
Skiddo may combine 'skid' and 'kiddo', slang for 'kid', which is also a young goat, though Bulbapedia says its anime pronunciation hints at 'skidoo'. The Japanese name is Meecle (メェークル), which may blend a goat's bleat, mē, with 'vehicle' or 'bicycle'.
Design inspiration
A goat seems to be the model for Skiddo, possibly a bharal or dwarf bharal given its horns. Bulbapedia also reads it as based on a bicycle, since it can be ridden and its horns resemble riser handlebars. These are fan readings.
Evolution notes
Skiddo evolves into Gogoat at level 32.
In the games
A Skiddo lives in Lively Town as a village child in Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon. Skiddo first appeared in X and Y, where it is found on Route 5.
In the anime
Skiddo made their animated debut in 'A Race for Home!', where Trainers race them and the episode shows that Skiddo milk can be made into dairy products. In 'A Fork in the Road! A Parting of the Ways!' one is treated by Dr. White while a disguised Jessie lends a hand.
