Where do Hoopa’s rings go?
Hoopa pulls things through its rings and sends them somewhere. Where?
Case status: Open. The games leave it unanswered, so nobody can say for sure.
What the games say
Hoopa is the Mischief Pokémon. Pokémon X says it sends anything and everything to faraway places using its loop, which can warp space. Pokémon Y says it gathers things it likes and passes them through the loop to teleport them to a secret place.
Omega Ruby says that in its true form Hoopa has a huge amount of power, and that legends tell of it carrying off an entire castle to get the treasure inside. Alpha Sapphire says its power was sealed, which is why it is in a much smaller form. In the games, Hoopa has two forms: a small Confined form, and a large Unbound form with six arms.
What fans think
The "secret place" is a fan favourite. Some fans think the rings open into the same kind of space as Ultra Wormholes. Others imagine a pocket world that Hoopa keeps its collection in. Both are fan ideas.
Fans also like to ask what happened to the castle. Did it end up in the secret place, too?
Our verdict
Case status: Open
Open. The Pokédex says the secret place exists and never says what is in it. That makes it a good mystery.
