Alcremie
Alcremie is a Fairy-type Pokémon, the Cream Pokémon, number 869 (#0869) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 8 and comes from the Galar region. It is 0.3 m tall and weighs 0.5 kg.
Alcremie is the Cream Pokémon, a living dessert of whipped cream whose flavour and colour were fixed by how its Trainer spun it as a Milcery. The happier it feels, the sweeter and richer its cream gets, and pastry chefs are said to want one as a partner.

Biology
Alcremie is 0.3 m tall and weighs 0.5 kg. Its head is a swirl of cream with two loop-shaped bangs, each topped with the Sweet it held as a Milcery, and its lower body is two dollops like a dress. Its eyes match its Sweet, and its cream is one of several pastel shades. The Pokédex says desserts decorated with its cream bring happiness to everyone who eats them.
Behaviour
When it trusts a Trainer, Alcremie treats them to berries decorated with its cream, and cherished Alcremie make the most exquisite cream. If attacked, it hits back with cream carrying the flavour it evolved with. Bulbapedia adds that the cream can soothe a foe so much it loses the will to fight.
Habitat
The Pokédex gives no habitat, since Alcremie comes from evolving Milcery. It also appears in Max Raid Battles in Galar and in Tera Raid Battles at Blueberry Academy.
Powers
Its Ability is Sweet Veil, which stops allies falling asleep, or the hidden Aroma Veil, which protects them from mind-affecting moves. It arrives knowing Decorate, which Bulbapedia says no other known Pokémon can learn, and it supports with Draining Kiss and Recover. Base Special Defense 121 and Special Attack 110 suit a sturdy special attacker. Gigantamax Alcremie is a five-tiered cake whose entry says it fires cream missiles of 100,000 kilocalories each; Bulbapedia says it is the only known Pokémon to use G-Max Finale.
Name origin
Alcremie may combine 'alchemy' with 'cream', 'crème' or 'creamy'. The Japanese name is Mawhip (マホイップ), which may blend mahō ('magic') with hoippu ('whip', as in whipped cream).
Design inspiration
Atsuko Nishida designed Alcremie. It may be modelled on whipped cream or on Eton mess, a British dessert of fruit, meringue and whipped cream, and its Gigantamax form may nod to a wedding cake. These are fan readings.
Evolution notes
Alcremie evolves from Milcery, and the Sweet used only changes its head decorations and eye colour, while the spin chooses the cream. Rainbow Swirl needs a spin of over 10 seconds in the evening, which in Sword and Shield meant between 7:00 and 7:59 pm real time.
In the games
Ballonlea's Fairy-type Gym Leader Opal Gigantamaxes her Alcremie at the first opportunity in Sword and Shield, the games that introduced it. It is also a playable ranged supporter in Pokémon UNITE, starting as Milcery and evolving at level 4, and it is not available in Legends: Z-A.
In the anime
Opal's Gigantamax Alcremie used G-Max Finale on Ash's Pikachu, and she lent Alcremie to each contestant of her decorating contest, both in 'The Sweet Taste of Battle!'. Murdock owns a Ruby Swirl Alcremie, first seen in 'The Treasure After the Storm!'.
Fun facts
- Counting nine creams, seven Sweets and Gigantamax, Alcremie has 64 recognised forms, the most of any species, yet only nine Pokédex entries, since only the creams get their own.
- Its entries give each cream a flavour: Lemon Cream is sour, Salted Cream salty, Caramel Swirl bitter and Rainbow Swirl complex.
- Shiny Alcremie is always the same colour, whatever its cream.
