Lore
Biology
Milcery is 0.2 m tall and weighs 0.3 kg: a droplet of cream with two small arms and a crown of six cream protrusions, with droplets constantly jumping off them. Its eyes are plain white. The Pokédex says it swells as it soaks up sweet aromas and deflates when its energy runs low. Every Milcery is female.
Behaviour
When attacked, Milcery tackles its foe first and then covers it in cream. Once the opponent is blinded or dazzled by how delicious the cream is, Milcery runs away instead of finishing the fight. It is a Pokémon built for escaping, not for brawling.
Habitat
The Pokédex gives no habitat beyond saying it forms from sweet scents in the air. In Scarlet and Violet it is wild in The Indigo Disk, in the Polar and Coastal Biomes of Blueberry Academy's Terarium.
Powers
Its Ability is Sweet Veil, which stops allies falling asleep, or the hidden Aroma Veil, which shields them from mind-affecting moves. It learns Draining Kiss and Dazzling Gleam and heals with Recover. Its best base stat is Special Defense at 61, since it is mostly a Pokémon waiting to become Alcremie.
Name origin
Milcery may combine 'milk' and 'sorcery'. The Japanese name is Mahomil (マホミル), which may blend mahō ('magic') with 'milk'.
Design inspiration
Milcery may be modelled on a splash of milk or a dollop of cream. Bulbapedia names no designer for it.
Evolution notes
Milcery evolves into Alcremie when its Trainer spins around while it holds a Sweet (in Scarlet and Violet the Trainer gets dizzy instead of striking a pose).
In the games
Players find Milcery on Route 4 and around Bridge Field and Giant's Mirror in Sword and Shield, the games that introduced it. In the base Scarlet and Violet it can only arrive by trade or a Pokémon HOME transfer, and it is not available in Legends: Z-A.
In the anime
Goh caught a Milcery in 'The Sweet Taste of Battle!', and it evolved into a Vanilla Cream Alcremie almost at once when he put a Strawberry Sweet on it and spun it around.
