Klang

Klang is a Steel-type Pokémon, the Gear Pokémon, number 600 (#0600) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 5 and comes from the Unova region. It is 0.6 m tall and weighs 51 kg.
Klang is the Gear Pokémon whose Pokédex entry carries a stark warning: it launches a minigear at foes, and if that gear never returns, Klang dies. Many companies in Galar use it as a logo, the Pokédex says, because it stands for industrial technology.

Lore
Biology
Klang is 0.6 m tall and weighs 51 kg. Bulbapedia describes it as three interlocking grey gears, two small ones with six teeth and a large one with eight, whose darker centres can be read as a face from any angle. The Pokédex says it fires its spinning minigears away at high speed again and again, and that at full effort the minigear locks neatly into the rim of the big gear, sharply raising its rotation speed.
Behaviour
Klang tells others how it feels by changing the direction it spins, and the Pokédex says it rotates faster when it is angry.
Habitat
The Pokédex gives no habitat. It turns up in the P2 Laboratory in Black 2 and White 2, and in Sword and Shield on Route 10, in the Dusty Bowl and in Hammerlocke Hills.
Powers
Klang has the same Abilities as Klink, Plus and Minus with Clear Body hidden, and much the same moves, led by Thunder Shock, Discharge and Zap Cannon. With base Defense 95 and Special Defense 85 it is a sturdy middle stage, and its base Attack of 80 hits harder than Klink's.
Name origin
Klang may come from 'clang', the sound of metal striking metal heavily. The Japanese name is Gigiaru (ギギアル), which may come from 'gear' with the first syllable repeated.
Design inspiration
Klang appears to be based on interlocking gears, perhaps specifically sun and planet gears. That is a fan reading, not an official statement.
Evolution notes
Klang evolves from Klink at level 38 and into Klinklang at level 49.
In the games
Klang is reached by evolving Klink in Black and White, its first game. In X and Y, Bulbapedia lists the Steel-type Friend Safari as its only source. It is unobtainable in Scarlet and Violet and in Legends: Z-A.
In the anime
Klang debuted in the two Victini films alongside Mannes's Klink and Klinklang. Its animated series debut was in the special Mewtwo: Prologue to Awakening, where Virgil's Klang powers his helicopter.

A minigear and big gear comprise its body. If the minigear it launches at a foe doesn't return, it will die. (Black 2, White 2, Y, Alpha Sapphire)
By changing the direction in which it rotates, it communicates its feelings to others. When angry, it rotates faster. (Black, X, Omega Ruby)
Spinning minigears are rotated at high speed and repeatedly fired away. It is dangerous if the gears don't return. (White)
