Minun

Minun is a Electric-type Pokémon, the Cheering Pokémon, number 312 (#0312) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 3 and comes from the Hoenn region. It is 0.4 m tall and weighs 4.2 kg.

Lore
Biology
Minun is 0.4 m tall and 4.2 kg, a cream-coloured biped with blue markings. A cream minus sign sits in the middle of each round blue cheek, its long flat ears are mostly blue, and its front paws are blue. The limbs are stubby and digitless, the nose is a dot, and the short tail ends in a blue minus sign.
Behaviour
Minun cheers with pom-poms made of sparks. It dislikes water, so in rain it ducks under the eaves of houses. The Pokédex says a dose of current from Minun and Plusle helps blood flow and eases tight muscles, and Bulbapedia says Minun is often seen with Plusle.
Habitat
Grassland, in the Pokédex's habitat categories. In Scarlet and Violet it is available through trade or Pokémon HOME, and in the wild in The Indigo Disk's Terarium, in the Canyon and Polar Biomes and Chargestone Cavern. It is not in Legends: Z-A.
Powers
Minun's Ability is Minus, which boosts Special Attack when a friendly Pokémon has Plus or Minus, with Volt Absorb hidden, which heals it when hit by Electric moves. Thunder and Spark attack, Helping Hand backs up allies, and Baton Pass hands boosts to a teammate. It has the same total base stats as Plusle (405), but leans defensive, with Special Defense 85.
Name origin
Minun may come from 'minus', in reference to negative electrical charge, and may also include 'bun' or 'bunny'. The Japanese name マイナン is romanised Minun as well (Bulbapedia transliterates it Mainan) and shares the 'minus' root.
Design inspiration
Minun appears to be a cheerleading mouse, chipmunk or rabbit like its partner, and could also be a negative electric charge in animal form. These are fan readings.
In the games
In Pokémon Ranger, Minun is Lunick's partner Pokémon. It first appeared in Ruby and Sapphire, and it appears with Plusle in Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire, where together they seal off the Poké Mart on the Sapphire Field with an electric current.
In the anime
Plusle and Minun are the comic relief of the film Destiny Deoxys, helping Tory Lund overcome his fear of Pokémon. In 'Lights, Camerupt, Action!' a Minun stars with a Plusle in a film Elijah directs.
