Quilladin

Quilladin is a Grass-type Pokémon, the Spiny Armor Pokémon, number 651 (#0651) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 6 and comes from the Kalos region. It is 0.7 m tall and weighs 29 kg.
Quilladin is the Spiny Armor Pokémon, a gentle, tank-like chestnut that can launch a trailer into the air with one tackle yet never starts a fight. It is so tough, the Pokédex says, that violent collisions do not faze it.

Lore
Biology
Quilladin is a round, dark brown, hedgehog-like Pokémon, 0.7 m tall and 29 kg. A green, chestnut-like shell with banded plates covers most of its body leaving its face, legs and inner arms bare. A large ear-like spike with a reddish tip sits on each side of its head.
Behaviour
Quilladin is gentle and never picks fights, though it builds up its lower body by barging into other Quilladin; the Pokédex says the heavy shell strengthens its lower body. When it must defend itself it deflects blows with its shell and counterattacks with sharp quills.
Habitat
The Pokédex gives it no habitat. In Scarlet and Violet it arrives by trade or by evolving Chespin in The Indigo Disk, and in Legends: Z-A you evolve a Chespin. The Mega Dimension DLC adds it to Hyperspace Lumiose's Grass-type wild zones.
Powers
It shares the Chespin line's Overgrow and Hidden Ability Bulletproof. In Scarlet and Violet's data it gains Seed Bomb at level 20, Bulk Up at 38 and Wood Hammer at 53. With base Defense 95 it is already sturdy, well ahead of its Chespin form.
Name origin
Quilladin may combine 'quill' with 'paladin', a knight. The Japanese name is Hariborg (ハリボーグ), which may blend harinezumi (hedgehog), bōgu (armour) and the French bogue, 'chestnut shell'.
Design inspiration
Bulbapedia says Quilladin seems to be a hedgehog crossed with a chestnut, and may also draw on armoured animals like pangolins, armadillos and glyptodonts. Its round, bulky shape may recall the husk that protects a chestnut. These are fan readings.
Evolution notes
Quilladin evolves from Chespin at level 16 and into Chesnaught at level 36.
In the games
Quilladin is the middle stage of the Kalos Grass starter in X and Y, where you could also find wild ones in the Grass Friend Safari.
In the anime
Quilladin physically debuted in 'Love Strikes! Eevee, Yikes!', where it fell for Serena's Eevee and was rejected. In 'An Adventure of Mega Proportions!', a Trainer's Quilladin lost to Korrina's Lucario.
