Lore
Biology
Regieleki is a round yellow golem, 1.2 m tall and 145 kg, with three spikes on its head, lightning-bolt arms and a face of seven pink dots. The Pokédex says its whole body is a single organ that makes electricity. Five blue rings circle its body; Bulbapedia says they are insulated and may have been placed there by ancient people to restrain its power.
Behaviour
According to legend, Regigigas made Regieleki from pure electric energy. Humans once revered it, then grew afraid of its strength and sealed it inside the Split-Decision Ruins. Bulbapedia says it absorbs electrons to stay alive.
Habitat
The Pokédex gives no habitat. It is found in the Split-Decision Ruins of The Crown Tundra, and in Scarlet and Violet it arrives from Pokémon HOME or an event.
Powers
Its Ability is Transistor, which powers up its Electric moves, and Bulbapedia says no other Pokémon can have it. Its signature move is Thunder Cage, which traps a foe and damages it over time, and again only Regieleki can learn it. It also learns Thunderbolt, Extreme Speed, Zap Cannon and Explosion. Its Defense and Special Defense are only 50, so it relies on striking first.
Name origin
Regieleki may combine regis, Latin for 'royal', with ereki, Japanese for 'electric'. The Japanese name is Regieleki (レジエレキ).
Design inspiration
Regieleki appears to be electric charge held in by insulation: its body resembles a light bulb, its arms electric arcs and its legs a power plug. Bulbapedia says the five giants may draw on Hebrew golem legends and stand for historical epochs, with Regieleki as the Modern Age, and that the seven dots on its face may be Braille, as used in the puzzle at the Sealed Chamber. These are fan readings.
In the games
Regieleki is one half of a choice: Sword and Shield's The Crown Tundra expansion, where it first appeared, lets you take it or Regidrago, but not both. In Pokémon UNITE it spawns as a neutral Pokémon on the Theia Sky Ruins map: defeat it and it marches on the opposing team's goal zone. It is not available in Legends: Z-A.
In the anime
Regieleki debuted in 'Chasing to the Finish!', where Goh caught one during a Project Mew Trial Mission.
