Seedot

Seedot is a Grass-type Pokémon, the Acorn Pokémon, number 273 (#0273) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 3 and comes from the Hoenn region. It is 0.5 m tall and weighs 4 kg.
Seedot hangs from branches by the top of its head and looks so much like an acorn that, the Pokédex says, it poses as a nut to get bird Pokémon to carry it into new territory.

Lore
Biology
Seedot is a plant Pokémon, small and brown, 0.5 m tall and 4 kg, with a beige mask-like pattern around its large black eyes, two beige feet and a grey cap topped by a short stem, which it uses to hang from tree branches. It polishes its body with leaves once a day, and if it stays perfectly still it can pass for a real nut.
Behaviour
Seedot likes to give foraging Pokémon a fright by suddenly moving once they come near. The Pokédex says strong winds can sometimes knock it off its branch.
Habitat
Forests, according to the Pokédex. In Scarlet and Violet it is wild in Kitakami (The Teal Mask) and reaches Paldea only by trade or Pokémon HOME transfer, and Bulbapedia lists it as unobtainable in Legends: Z-A.
Diet
Hanging from a branch, it sucks moisture and nutrients out of the tree, and a bigger drink means a glossier body. The Pokédex says that when it finishes it gets so heavy that it falls with a thump.
Powers
Its Ability is Chlorophyll, which doubles Speed in strong sunlight, or Early Bird, which makes sleep pass twice as fast; the hidden Ability is Pickpocket, which steals the held item of a Pokémon that makes contact with it. It drains energy with Absorb and Mega Drain, and learns Explosion at level 33. Its best base stat is Defense, at 50.
Name origin
Seedot may combine 'seed' with 'dot' or 'tot' (a small child). The Japanese name is Taneboh (タネボー), which may blend 種 tane ('seed') with 赤ん坊 akanbō ('baby') or 帽子 bōshi ('hat').
Design inspiration
Seedot appears to be an acorn, with its cupule serving as the cap.
Evolution notes
Seedot evolves into Nuzleaf at level 14.
In the games
Seedot teams up with a Pidgey as Team Seedgey in Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness, and it first appeared in Hoenn in Ruby and Sapphire.
In the anime
Seedot made its physical debut in 'Seeing is Believing', where Professor Birch's Pokémon know-how cheered up three of them. In 'Promoting Healthy Tangrowth!' one helped Tangrowth and other Pokémon try to nurse a battered 1,000-year-old tree.
