Lore
Biology
Delcatty is a slim-legged, mostly tan cat, 1.1 m tall and 32.6 kg, with a pointed whisker on each cheek and purple ears that end in three small tufts. A purple ruff bristling with pin-like spikes circles its neck, and its thin tail finishes in a flower-shaped puff of purple hair. The Pokédex praises its fur as sublime.
Behaviour
Delcatty is relaxed and rarely picks fights; if another Pokémon approaches while it sleeps, it just moves somewhere else. The Pokédex says it eats and sleeps whenever the mood takes it, so its daily routine is completely random. It dislikes dirty places and often looks for a comfortable spot to groom itself, and it is nocturnal, becoming active at dusk.
Habitat
The Pokédex lists Delcatty as a forest Pokémon, and Bulbapedia says it is rarely seen in the wild because it is the result of an evolution stone. It cannot be obtained in Scarlet and Violet or in Legends: Z-A.
Powers
Delcatty has Cute Charm and Normalize, with Wonder Skin hidden, and only Skitty and Delcatty can have Normalize. It learns Fake Out, Sing, Attract and Double Slap by level-up. Its base Speed of 90 is its best stat, with every other stat between 55 and 70.
Name origin
Delcatty may combine 'delicate' and 'catty'. The Japanese name is Enekororo (エネコロロ), which may blend enokorogusa (green foxtail), neko ('cat') and kokoro ('heart').
Design inspiration
Delcatty looks like a domestic cat, and its tufted ears may also draw on the lynx. Its collar looks like a pin holder and like an orthopaedic neck pillow, the latter a possible nod to sleeping wherever it likes. These are fan readings.
Evolution notes
Delcatty is the final form of the line and evolves from Skitty with a Moon Stone.
In the games
Delcatty arrived in Ruby and Sapphire, where it is found by evolving Skitty, and it can be evolved again in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. In Pokémon Masters EX, Wally and Shauna each have a Delcatty sync pair.
In the anime
Georgio's Delcatty debuted in 'A Date With Delcatty'; Butch and Cassidy stole it, and he got it back with help from Misty and Casey. In 'Delcatty Got Your Tongue', Abby and her Delcatty, nicknamed Johnny, showed May's Skitty how to use Blizzard.
