Dhelmise

Dhelmise is a Ghost/Grass-type Pokémon, the Sea Creeper Pokémon, number 781 (#0781) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 7 and comes from the Alola region. It is 3.9 m tall and weighs 210 kg.
Dhelmise is a piece of seaweed that fused with wreckage from a sunken ship and was reborn as a ghost: a rusty anchor and a battered ship's wheel held together by a tangle of green weed. The Pokédex says the weed is its actual body, and one swing of the anchor can knock out a Wailord.
How to pronounce Dhelmise

Lore
Biology
Dhelmise is 3.9 m tall and weighs 210 kg. Its true body is the seaweed, which winds around a rusty brown anchor and a damaged lavender and yellow ship's wheel that can spin freely. The Moon Pokédex describes it as the soul of drifting seaweed reborn as a Pokémon.
Behaviour
Dhelmise lowers its anchor and waits for prey to come near. Once it has a catch, the seaweed wraps around the victim and drains its life force. The Pokédex says it gets along with Skrelp, and Bulbapedia adds Dragalge.
Habitat
It drifts in the sea, and in Alola you fish for it at Seafolk Village. It can be found in Sword and Shield and the Expansion Pass but not in Scarlet and Violet.
Diet
It prefers big prey such as Wailord and Wailmer, and keeps itself going by adding seabed detritus and fresh seaweed to its body.
Powers
Its only Ability is Steelworker, which makes its Steel moves 1.5 times as strong, and Bulbapedia says no other known Pokémon can have that Ability. No other known Pokémon can learn Anchor Shot either, and its other moves include Shadow Ball, Power Whip and Phantom Force. Base Attack 131 is the highest of any Ghost type's standard form, though Speed 40 makes it slow.
Name origin
Dhelmise may combine 'demise' with 'helm', the steering gear of a ship. The Japanese name is Dadarin (ダダリン), which may blend tatari ('curse') and darin ('ship's wheel').
Design inspiration
Bulbapedia suggests ghost ship legends such as the Flying Dutchman, and the seaweed may be Codium fragile, nicknamed dead man's fingers. Its Shiny form's red weed may recall red seaweed. These are fan readings.
In the games
In Sword and Shield, Dhelmise appears in Max Raid Battles and, with the Expansion Pass, at Challenge Beach and the Frigid Sea, after its debut in Sun and Moon. It is not available in Legends: Z-A.
In the anime
Dhelmise debuted in 'Balloons, Brionne, and Belligerence!', guarding a Mystic Water until Lana's Popplio beat it with Hydro Vortex. Another served in Lucius's Lapras crew in Pokémon Horizons.
