Lore
Biology
Dolliv is a plant Pokémon, 0.6 m tall and 11.9 kg, that looks like a person in a flared dress. Its pale green head carries leaves and two olive fruits, with tiny black eyes and mouth, and a collar-like shape sits beneath it. Two long leaves serve as arms, and the skirt-like body hides thin legs.
Behaviour
Dolliv has lived beside people since long ago, making its oil and sharing it with others. It likes to bask until its fruits ripen, then wanders off on its own. Bulbapedia, citing Pokémon Sleep, says it sleeps sitting down, with its dress spread out and its head tilted slightly down.
Habitat
The Pokédex gives no habitat. In Scarlet and Violet it is found in the East Paldean Sea, Tagtree Thicket and Area Three of the North Province, and in 3-star Tera Raid Battles.
Powers
Its Abilities are Early Bird and the hidden Harvest. It adds Seed Bomb at level 29 and Energy Ball at 34 to what Smoliv learns, and keeps Grassy Terrain and Leech Seed. Base Special Attack and Special Defense of 78 are its best stats, but its Speed is a slow 33.
Name origin
Dolliv may combine 'doll' and 'olive'. The Japanese name is Olinyo (オリーニョ), possibly from 'olive' and aliño, Spanish for a condiment or dressing, or from the Portuguese diminutive suffix -inho.
Design inspiration
Dolliv may draw on the dryad, a tree spirit, as well as on a green olive. This is a fan reading.
Evolution notes
Dolliv evolves from Smoliv at level 25 and into Arboliva at level 35.
In the games
Dolliv is the middle stage of the Smoliv line, which was introduced in Scarlet and Violet. It is not available in Legends: Z-A.
In the anime
Brassius's Dolliv debuted in the Pokémon Horizons episode 'Nemona and Brassius and…'. It returned in 'Sparkle! The Glow of Flame and Art' and again in 'Showdown! The Paldea Elite Four'.
