Dragalge

Dragalge is a Poison/Dragon-type Pokémon, the Mock Kelp Pokémon, number 691 (#0691) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 6 and comes from the Kalos region. It is 1.8 m tall and weighs 81.5 kg.
Dragalge is the Mock Kelp Pokémon at its deadliest: a Poison and Dragon sea dragon whose poison, the Pokédex says, can corrode a tanker's hull. Ships that sail into its seas, the old stories go, are never seen again.

Lore
Biology
Dragalge is a dull-brown sea dragon, 1.8 m tall and 81.5 kg, whose body curls into a shape a little like a 3. Its light purple sides are marked with slender vertical lines, its head carries a red, leaf-shaped crest and a pair of brownish-green antennae, and three small spikes run down its back. The Pokédex says it makes dragon energy by lifting the plume on its head out of the sea to soak up sunlight.
Behaviour
Dragalge is territorial and sprays its poison indiscriminately at anything that enters its waters. It lies hidden in seaweed and surprises prey such as Finizen with a squirt of poison.
Habitat
The Pokédex names no habitat. In Scarlet it lives in the North Paldean Sea and in 5-star and 6-star Tera Raid Battles, while Violet players must trade for it. In Legends: Z-A it is found in Wild Zone 20 and the Sewers, with more in Hyperspace Lumiose.
Powers
Its Abilities are Poison Point and Poison Touch, with Adaptability hidden. It fires Sludge Bomb, Dragon Pulse and Hydro Pump, and learns Outrage at level 66. With 123 base Special Defense and 97 Special Attack it is a slow but sturdy special attacker. Mega Dragalge, from Legends: Z-A, stays Poison and Dragon and gains Regenerator. It is bigger and draped in kelp, with six cape-like fronds and antler-shaped antennae, and Bulbapedia says its liquid makes cells regenerate wildly, healing it but poisoning everything else.
Name origin
Dragalge may combine dragon and algae. The Japanese name is Dramidoro (ドラミドロ), possibly from dragon and aomidoro, a genus of green algae.
Design inspiration
Dragalge looks like a leafy seadragon, though its shape and appendages also resemble the weedy seadragon, and both animals disguise themselves as seaweed. Bulbapedia notes that the Skrelp and Dragalge Pokédex entries keep alluding to rotten kelp, and rotting seaweed can give off toxic gas. Mega Dragalge seems to resemble real kelps, with head bulbs like the floats of Sargassum seaweed. These are fan readings.
Evolution notes
Dragalge evolves from Skrelp at level 48.
In the games
Elite Four member Drasna is paired with a Dragalge in Pokémon Masters EX. Mega Dragalge was introduced in Legends: Z-A, though the species itself first appeared in X and Y.
In the anime
Two wild Dragalge first showed up in 'An Undersea Place to Call Home!', where they helped weld the wreck of the S.S. Cussler together into a home for sea Pokémon.
