Nacli

Nacli is a Rock-type Pokémon, the Rock Salt Pokémon, number 932 (#0932) in the National Pokédex. It was introduced in Generation 9 and comes from the Paldea region. It is 0.4 m tall and weighs 16 kg.
Nacli is the Rock Salt Pokémon, a small rock that leaves a trail of salt wherever it walks, so that its tracks have long been called salt roads. People prized it long ago because it shared its precious salt.

Lore
Biology
Nacli is made of rock salt, 0.4 m (1'04") tall and 16 kg (35.3 lbs). Its upper half is rugged brown rock, ringed by a pale stripe, and its lower half is a cube of white salt set with orange-yellow rectangular eyes that can flare red. The Pokédex says it is born in a bed of rock salt deep underground.
Behaviour
Nacli wears away as it travels. The ground scrapes salt off its body, and its designer says, as cited by Bulbapedia, that this rounds off its lower rear corners, while fresh salt keeps forming inside it. Bulbapedia adds that Nacli salt still goes into foods like ice cream, as the flavour is gentle.
Habitat
The Pokédex says it is born in rock salt deep under the earth. In Scarlet and Violet Serebii lists it in rock and beach biomes across Paldea, including the Asado Desert.
Powers
Its Ability Purifying Salt protects it from status conditions and halves damage from Ghost-type moves, and only this line is known to have it. Sturdy is its other regular Ability, with Clear Body hidden. It throws Rock Slide and Stone Edge, sets Stealth Rock and hardens up with Iron Defense. A base Defense of 75 and Speed of 25 make it a very slow, sturdy little wall.
Name origin
Nacli may combine NaCl, the chemical formula of table salt, with 'little' or 'salty'; the final i might even nod to iodine, which is added to salt. The Japanese name is Kojio (コジオ), which may combine ko (small or child), shio (salt) and geo- (earth).
Design inspiration
Bulbapedia, citing its designer Hitoshi Ariga, says the whole line was his work and that Nacli is a halite (rock salt) crystal sitting inside a small piece of sedimentary rock. Its trail may be a literal salt road, a trade route for salt, and its glowing eyes may recall salt lamps. The last two are fan readings.
Evolution notes
Nacli evolves into Naclstack at level 24.
In the games
Players meet Nacli in 1-star Tera Raid Battles in Scarlet and Violet, where it debuted. In Legends: Z-A it is wild in the Mega Dimension DLC's Hyperspace Lumiose, in 3-star Rock-type zones, and one appears in Side Mission 142.
In the anime
Nacli debuted in 'Transform! Hero of the Seas, Palafin'. In 'The Terapagos I Don't Know' one lives in ancient Paldean fort ruins beside a Charcadet, and the episode suggests Nacli has lived with people since ancient times and helped them ward off evil spirits.
