Lore
Biology
Squawkabilly is a parrot, 0.6 m (2'00") tall and 2.4 kg (5.3 lbs). Its plumage is green, blue, yellow or off-white, from most to least common, but every colour keeps white feathers on its breast, belly and wingtips. Longer feathers along its sides look like a long coat, and a lumpy black crest on its head looks like a pompadour.
Behaviour
Squawkabilly are exceptionally noisy and territorial, and the Pokédex says they dislike being alone, with the largest flocks holding more than 50 birds. Green flocks hold the most sway, blue ones see them as rivals, and hotheaded yellow ones have even chased other bird Pokémon away from their towns. White ones, the fewest in number, avoid conflict but fight valiantly when they must. Bulbapedia notes some can mimic human speech.
Habitat
The Pokédex says they prefer to live in cities, and Bulbapedia adds forests and towns, where they look for food at dawn and dusk. In Scarlet and Violet all four plumages roam Paldea's East Province.
Powers
Squawkabilly has four non-interchangeable plumage forms, and the only functional difference is the hidden Ability: Guts on Green and Blue, Sheer Force on Yellow and White. All share Intimidate and Hustle. It strikes with Brave Bird, Fly and Facade and can copy foes with Mimic and Copycat. With base Attack 96 and Speed 92 it is a fast, hard-hitting physical attacker.
Name origin
Squawkabilly may combine squawk, bill and rockabilly. The Japanese name is Ikirinko (イキリンコ), which may mix ikiri, slang for acting cocky, and inko, a parrot.
Design inspiration
Squawkabilly appears to be based on a parrot, and it looks very much like the monk parakeet, an invasive bird that forms large flocks in Spanish cities and also comes in green, blue, yellow and white, with green commonest. These are fan readings.
In the games
Flocks of Squawkabilly carry Paldea's Flying Taxi in Scarlet and Violet, where it debuted. In Legends: Z-A it is wild only in the Mega Dimension DLC's Hyperspace Lumiose, in all four plumages.
In the anime
A Yellow Plumage Squawkabilly debuted in 'The Future I Choose' alongside Lucca and was later revealed to belong to Liko's grandmother, Diana. Green and Blue Plumage ones debuted as part of the Paldea taxi flock in 'Someone We Can't See! Whosawhatsit?'.
