Lore
Biology
Togekiss is a white, bird-like Pokémon with broad, triangular wings, red and blue triangles on its underside and a short three-feather tail. Three spikes crown its head: red-tipped on the right, blue-tipped on the left and plain white in the middle. It is 1.5 m tall and weighs 38.0 kg. Bulbapedia says it brings good luck simply by existing.
Behaviour
Togekiss only appears in peaceful places. Bulbapedia says it brings kind gifts and sweet blessings to people who keep out of quarrels and treat one another fairly, though it is also a capable fighter. The Legends: Arceus researcher claims Togekiss will show itself once the land is at peace, and according to Bulbapedia's reading of the Sleep Style Dex, a group of Togekiss sleeping contentedly is a sign that the area is at peace.
Habitat
Togekiss has no listed Pokédex habitat, and Bulbapedia says it only shows up in peaceful places. It is not available in Scarlet and Violet or Legends: Z-A.
Powers
Its Abilities are Hustle and Serene Grace, with Super Luck hidden. It comes with Air Slash, Sky Attack, Aura Sphere, Extreme Speed and Tri Attack, and Serene Grace makes those moves' extra effects more likely. With base 120 Special Attack and 115 Special Defense it is a bulky special attacker.
Name origin
Togekiss may combine toge ('spike') and 'kiss', for its kind nature. The Japanese name is Togekiss (トゲキッス).
Design inspiration
Togekiss seems to draw on fairies and birds: its white colour and peaceful nature suggest doves, its triangular belly markings resemble a snowy owl's, and its blessings recall angels. Bulbapedia also floats the Hōō, the Japanese take on the fenghuang, because of its link with peace and its avoidance of conflict. These are fan readings.
Evolution notes
Togekiss evolves from Togetic when it is exposed to a Shiny Stone.
In the games
Togekiss is the final stage of the Togepi line, wild in Legends: Arceus and in Sword and Shield. It debuted in Diamond and Pearl and was left out of Scarlet and Violet and Legends: Z-A.
In the anime
Dawn's Togekiss debuted in 'Dawn of a Royal Day!' under Princess Salvia, who won the Arrowroot Contest with it and then gave it to Dawn. Cynthia's Togekiss faced Ash's Pikachu in the Masters Eight Tournament in 'Bewitch, Battle, and Bewilder!', and later his Lucario.
