The short answer is no. No Pokémon has zero weaknesses from its types alone. A couple of tricks get close, though, and for a few years two Pokémon really did have none. This page checks the chart square by square, then looks at each trick.
Does any type combination have zero weaknesses?
We ran all 171 combinations, 18 single types and 153 dual types, through the type chart in the pokee.si data. None of them has zero weaknesses. Here is how many each one has:
| Weaknesses | Single types | Dual types | All combinations |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2 | 5 | 7 |
| 2 | 4 | 21 | 25 |
| 3 | 9 | 33 | 42 |
| 4 | 1 | 44 | 45 |
| 5 | 2 | 28 | 30 |
| 6 | 0 | 16 | 16 |
| 7 | 0 | 6 | 6 |
The worst have 7 weaknesses and the best have 1. For a ranking of the dual types real Pokémon use, see every dual type ranked, which scores resistances and immunities too.
The seven typings with one weakness
| Typing | Its only weakness | Pokémon with exactly this typing |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | Fighting | 75: Rattata, Raticate, Meowth and more |
| Normal/Ghost | Dark | no species, but two regional forms: Hisuian Zorua and Hisuian Zoroark |
| Water/Ground | Grass (4×) | 9: Wooper, Quagsire, Marshtomp and more |
| Electric | Ground | 35: Pikachu, Raichu, Voltorb and more |
| Poison/Dark | Ground | 4: Stunky, Skuntank, Drapion and more |
| Bug/Steel | Fire (4×) | 5: Forretress, Scizor, Escavalier and more |
| Ghost/Dark | Fairy | 2: Sableye, Spiritomb |
Two things to notice. A single weakness can still hurt: Water/Ground and Bug/Steel each have one, but it is a 4× hit, and Grass or Fire does four times damage. And no species has Normal/Ghost as its standard typing. Two regional forms do: Hisuian Zorua and Hisuian Zoroark, which first appeared in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Their Ability, Illusion, does nothing against Dark moves, so they keep that one weakness.
In total, 130 Pokémon species have exactly one weakness, and none have zero. (Regional forms and other forms are counted separately on each Pokémon's page.) By typing: Normal 75, Electric 35, Ground/Water 9, Bug/Steel 5, Dark/Poison 4, Dark/Ghost 2.
Levitate: the one real answer
Levitate makes a Pokémon float, so Ground moves miss it completely. A pure Electric type has Ground as its only weakness. So an Electric Pokémon with Levitate has no weakness at all. We checked all 130 one-weakness Pokémon in the data for an Ability that blocks their only weak spot. Exactly one family does:
| Pokémon | Type | Ability | Its only weakness | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tynamo | Electric | Levitate | Ground | 275 |
| Eelektrik | Electric | Levitate | Ground | 405 |
| Eelektross | Electric | Levitate | Ground | 515 |
That matches the community answers on PokéBase, which name the same three. It is true as long as nothing cancels the Ability. PokéBase notes that Mold Breaker, Teravolt, Turboblaze and Gastro Acid can switch Levitate off, and that Thousand Arrows can hit a floating Pokémon. The immunities article goes through each of those, and also covers the Air Balloon.
When Sableye and Spiritomb had none
The only Ghost/Dark Pokémon are Sableye (Gen 3), Spiritomb (Gen 4). Ghost/Dark blocks Normal, Fighting and Psychic completely, and nothing else hits it for extra damage. Remove Fairy from the chart and the number of weaknesses is 0.
According to PokémonDB, Dark and Steel arrived in Generation 2, and Fairy arrived in Generation 6 with Pokémon X and Y. Fairy hits Dark types for double damage. Today Ghost/Dark has exactly one weakness, Fairy. Older guides may still say they have none, so check the date.
Shedinja and Wonder Guard
Shedinja does not have zero weaknesses. It is weak to Fire, Flying, Rock, Ghost, Dark, five types in all. What it has is an Ability, Wonder Guard, that blocks any damaging move that is not super effective. PokémonDB says only Shedinja has Wonder Guard, and our data agrees.
Look at its stats: Shedinja is Bug/Ghost with 1 HP, Attack 90, Defense 45, Sp. Atk 30, Sp. Def 30, Speed 40. That 1 HP is the catch. Anything that gets through ends the battle. PokémonDB lists what still works against it: status moves, damage at the end of a turn such as poison or a sandstorm, entry hazards like Spikes and Stealth Rock, and attacks that ignore type such as Struggle. So Shedinja still has weaknesses. Most moves bounce off it, and the right few end the fight.
Terastallizing
In Scarlet and Violet, a Terastallized Pokémon turns into a single type, its Tera Type. Serebii says its weaknesses and resistances then follow that one type. So Tera cannot get to zero either. The best you can pick is a type with one weakness: Normal and Electric. The worst single types are Grass and Rock, with 5 each.
The Stellar Tera Type is the exception. Serebii says it leaves a Pokémon's weaknesses and resistances exactly as they were. Our Tera types guide has the rest.
So what should you do?
If you want a sturdy team, do not hunt for a Pokémon with no weakness. There is none to find. Aim for few shared weaknesses across the team instead. How to build a Pokémon team shows how, and dual type weaknesses explained covers how two types combine.
