Arceus (720) is the strongest Mythical Pokémon. Its base stat total is 720, which is 120 more than the 600 that almost every other Mythical sits on. This page ranks all 23 Mythicals by base stat total, then covers the details a flat ranking hides.
A base stat total is the six base stats added together: HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense and Speed. It is a rough guide to raw power. What the table tells you
Arceus is alone at the top, and every one of its six stats is 120. Eternatus is a Legendary with 690, so Arceus beats the best Legendary by 30 when you compare standard forms. (Some Legendary Mega forms go higher: Mega Mewtwo and Mega Rayquaza reach 780 in the data.) That is why Arceus is missing from lists of the strongest Legendaries: it does not belong in that group. In our data, 19 of the 23 sit on exactly 600. The four exceptions are Arceus 720, Keldeo 580, Phione 480, Meltan 300. So below the top spot, a total tells you very little. Mew, Celebi, Deoxys and Pecharunt all have 600, but they spend it differently: Mew has six 100s, while Pecharunt has 160 Defense and 88 everywhere else.
At the bottom, Meltan (300) evolves into Melmetal (600), which makes Meltan the weakest Mythical.
Psychic is the most common type among Mythicals, in 7 of the 23; Steel comes next with 5.
Forms that go higher
A few Mythicals have a second form with a bigger total.

A few notes on that table:
- Hoopa Unbound totals 680 (Psychic/Dark; Attack 160 against 110, Sp. Atk 170 against 150, Speed 80 against 70), against 600 for the standard Hoopa. PokémonDB gives the same totals.
- The Mega Evolutions are the only listed forms at 700. Mega Diancie comes from Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. PokémonDB files Mega Darkrai, Mega Zeraora and Mega Magearna under "Mega Dimension" without naming a game, so we have not guessed which one. Our data also lists a second colour version of Mega Magearna at 700, which PokémonDB does not show, so we left it out.
- None of them reach Arceus's 720.
Arceus itself has no stronger form in the data. Its Ability, Multitype, changes its type to match the Plate it holds. That changes its typing, not its stat total.
Deoxys: four formes, one total
Deoxys always has 600, but it changes the spread. All four formes:

Attack Deoxys trades almost all of its defence for 180 in both attacking stats. Speed Deoxys gets 180 Speed. The total never moves, so Deoxys is a good reminder that the total is only part of the picture.

Melmetal holds the highest HP, and Gigantamax Melmetal shares it. Attack Deoxys has the highest Attack and Special Attack of any Mythical form, both 180, and Speed Deoxys has the highest Speed at 180.
Caveats
- Mythical Pokémon usually need a special event or gift to get, as Legendary vs Mythical explains. A high total does not help if your game never gave you one.
- Base stat total leaves out moves, Abilities and typing. Two Pokémon with the same total can play very differently.
- Eternatus is Legendary, not Mythical. Several lists get this wrong.
- "Eternamax" Eternatus has a total of 1,125 in the data, but it only exists in a story fight. It is not in this table, and it is not a Mythical.
- Arceus is the strongest standard form of any Pokémon, Legendary or not. Mega and Primal forms of some Legendaries, such as Mega Mewtwo, Mega Rayquaza and Primal Groudon, have higher totals than 720, but they are temporary battle forms, not standard entries.
