Regional Forms List: All 57 Alolan, Galarian, Hisuian and Paldean Forms

Published

There are 57 regional forms, shared between 54 Pokémon. They come from four places: Alola (18 forms), Galar (19), Hisui (16) and Paldea (4).

A regional form is a different version of a Pokémon you already knew, adapted to life in one region. In this list every one of them has a different type from the normal version. Every table below shows the old type, the new type and the base stat total (the six numbers that describe how strong a Pokémon is, added up).

What are regional forms?

The idea started in Pokémon Sun and Moon (Generation 7), where they were called "regional variants". From Generation 8 the name is "regional forms". The first ones were the Alolan forms, and every one of the 18 is an old Generation 1 Pokémon.

Two Pokémon have more than one. Meowth has an Alolan form and a Galarian form. Tauros has three Paldean forms, called Combat Breed, Blaze Breed and Aqua Breed. Every other Pokémon with a regional form has just one.

The links below take you to each form's page. You can also read about the places themselves in Pokémon regions in order.

Alolan forms

Alola is the island region of Sun and Moon, and you can read more on its region page. All 18 Alolan forms are Pokémon first found in Kanto, and in Alola they look different and have new types.

Galarian forms

Galar is the region of Sword and Shield (see the Galar page). Its 19 forms include the first regional forms of Legendary Pokémon: Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos and Galarian Moltres.

Hisuian forms

Hisui is the old name of the Sinnoh region, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus is set long ago in that land. You can read about the modern place on the Sinnoh page. Hisui has 16 forms.

Paldean forms

Paldea is the region of Scarlet and Violet (see the Paldea page). It has the fewest, four forms, and three of them are Tauros.

Regional forms that evolve into new Pokémon

A few regional forms evolve into a Pokémon that has no normal version at all. This table shows each one, the new Pokémon, its type and how it evolves. If you want to understand evolving in general, read how Pokémon evolution works.

Regional form Evolves into (new species) Type How
Galarian Meowth Perrserker Steel Level 28
Galarian Farfetch'd Sirfetch'd Fighting Land 3 critical hits in one battle
Paldean Wooper Clodsire Poison/Ground Level 20
Hisuian Qwilfish Overqwil Dark/Poison Level up, knowing Barb Barrage
Hisuian Sneasel Sneasler Fighting/Poison Level up, during the day, holding Razor Claw
Galarian Corsola Cursola Ghost Level 38
Galarian Linoone Obstagoon Dark/Normal Level 35, at night
Galarian Mr. Mime Mr. Rime Ice/Psychic Level 42
Galarian Yamask Runerigus Ground/Ghost Take 49 damage, then walk under the rock arch, at Dusty Bowl
White-Striped Basculin Basculegion Water/Ghost Lose at least 294 HP to recoil damage without fainting

White-Striped Basculin is a Hisuian form that doesn't have "Hisuian" in its name. That is why some lists count 58 forms instead of 57.

How regional forms fit in the Pokédex

A regional form keeps the number of the Pokémon it comes from. It is not a new species, so it does not add to the total. How many Pokémon are there? explains this, and the same goes for Mega Evolutions in the Mega Evolution list.
