Generation 1 · Kanto

How to pronounce every Gen 1 Pokémon name

Generation 1 is the Kanto generation: 151 Pokémon, numbers 1 to 151 in the National Pokédex. Their English names were localised from the original Japanese names for the English releases.

All 151 respellings below follow how English official media or a dictionary say the names. 4 names have medium confidence, usually because English media do not all say it the same way; the note under the name says how.

The Pokémon Company has corrected one name from this generation at its own events: Nidoking.

Capital letters mark the loud syllable: PEE-kuh-choo means the PEE gets the push.
